A place for
the things I make.
A question, an irritation, or something I need myself. That’s usually where a project starts.
In 2020, I was trying to sell my flat during lockdown. Sharing photos with friends revealed how much I hadn’t thought through, from the lease to the things that made the neighbourhood worth living in. I’d already built websites for estate agents, so I built a tool to help a homeowner give their own place a page. It began as FabHomePages and became SinglePropertyPages.
House Price Guess came from a lighter question: could the conversations people already have about house prices become a game? I put an early version in front of local Reddit communities. People comparing scores gave me a much better reason to keep building than another week of polishing it alone.
A longer-running experiment
PropertyWebBuilder goes back to 2015. I open-sourced it in 2016, against much of the advice I’d been given, because I wanted the work to have a life beyond my attempts to sell it. There have been restarts and changes of direction since then. In 2026, AI coding tools helped me return to it.
That history runs through the newer projects: making useful tools for homes and places, trying them with real people, and finding out which ideas deserve more time.
Why Gipeties?
The name started in 2023 because I thought custom GPTs deserved something more memorable than an acronym: a “gipety”, or a collection of “gipeties”. Naturally, inventing a word also meant buying a domain and building a directory where people could curate them.
The name stuck. This is its next chapter: a home for selected projects and the occasional note about building them.
What you’ll find here
The projects are things you can explore for yourself. The notes are a place for ideas, decisions, and lessons along the way.
I write under the name Gipeties. The work gets the spotlight.
